Simeon Akin has at different times, held important operational and managerial positions in key multinational and indigenous shipping companies in Nigeria.
At Alraine Nigeria Limited, he was Container Control Manager between January 1992 – May 1994 and Export Manager from June 1995 – June 1996.
Simeon Akin was Operations Manager at CMBT Nigeria Limited (now Safmarine and a member of the AP MOELLER Group) between February 1997 – February 1999. He was among the team that husbanded the first MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company, S A Geneva) vessel on its maiden voyage to Nigeria. He handled MSC operations under Deros Maritime and Comet Shipping Agencies till April 2002.
Before his current assignment, Omole has been with the DANGOTE Group (2002-2011) as an Assistant General Manager in the Ports Operations Strategic Business unit (SBU), having core responsibility for the management of the Docklabour/Stevedoring services as well as implementing strategies for re-engineering the Shipping Agency arm of the vast organization into a profit making unit under the leadership of the Managing Director.
He is a member of both the Nigerian Institute of Shipping and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK. Simeon Akin was Traffic Manager at Hull Blyth Nigeria from March 2011 – October 2014 before relocating to the US as a legal permanent resident. At Hull Blyth, Simeon was responsible, at different times for Hapag-lloyd, Evergreen and Arkas Lines operations, some of the world’s leading container shipping operators
